July and August 2009 Australia camp 23.08.09

the weather has been difficult the last few weeks, with strong winds and a mix of snow and rain, but most races have gone ahead generally in good conditions. We have done lots of technical training and all athletes have developed well and can look forward to Autumn's gate training block. There has been strong competition in the FIS races this year with penalties as low as 10. we have one more week training in Australia and then travel to NZ for 2 weeks of FIS racing.

 

01.06.09 - AIS scholarship

Callum Brown has recieved a scholarship to the AIS (austrlain institute of sport ) and OWI (olympic winter institute), congratulations to Callum

 

19.03.09 - ski test H+N

ski testing in Reith for our elite athletes, Atomic and Head ski techs and 2010 equipment to test. should be a fantastic opportunity to choose the right setup for 2010

 

18.03.09 - SL training

another perfect day and hard icy track. warm up in stubbies then SL gate corridor of 40 gates.

 

17.03.09 - GS training

training at race arena was one of the best days of the season, the wet snow from the day before had froze overnight and training was on a perfoct hard track. line drill then race simulation, good achievement success by all athletes after a week of hard work

 

16.03.09 - GS training

GS training at race arena, line drill again. difficult snow conditions and light rain.

 

 

15.03.09 - GS training

GS training today, we worked on line and used stubbie markers to help all athletes achieve 'C' shape turn. Conditions were soft with some rain but good visibility, the team worked hard to achieve good results in poor snow conditions.
