23rd January 2007 - 26th January 2007 GS and SG Training

We are heading to Innerkrems again this week for a GS and SG camp. SG training will take place from 07.00-09.00 before the tourists arrive then we will switch to GS for the rest of the day. We are looking forward to training speed on a perfect track of man made snow and rolling terrain.

23nd January 2007 ACRA recommends VIST products 23.01.07

Alpine Coaching Race Academy now recommends the use of VIST plates and bindings to all our athletes. VIST are leaders in binding and race plate technology which are perfect products for all our athletes.

22nd January 2007 Landes Cup (Tirol Premier U12 and U14 race series)

Callum Brown has competed in 4 races over the last two weekends. His excellent form continues with two SL wins and 4th and 6th places in the GS races Callum also came second overall in the U14 races on Sunday in Mayrhofen. Callum will continue to wear the yellow leaders bib at the next races SG in two weeks time in Wildschonau, which is our Austrian base.

22nd January 2007 Free Ski Training

Due to poor snow conditions in the whole of Europe we have continued to travel back to the Stubai Glacier over the past few weeks to work on the technical performances of the athletes. In October we bought yearly passes for the Glacier which have now become very cost effective in this poor snow season. Temperatures on the Glacier over the past few weeks have only been around -1 during the day, so we have had perfect snow and weather conditions to improve the free ski performances of the athletes.

19th January 2007 SL training

We have spent the last 3 days in Innerkrems training SL in excellent conditions on hard packed snow making snow. Innerkrems is one of the Austrian Ski Federations training areas and provides us with excellent training conditions despite the lack of snow in Europe this season.

6th January 2007 BARSC Championships

ACRA athlete’s excelled during these championships, which luckily went ahead in spite of poor snow conditions throughout the Alps.

Callum Brown dominated all six races, winning not only in his own age group, but also winning 5 of the races in the under 14 age group.

Charlotte Jesse took the SL Championship in great form, but sadly skied out of all 4 GS races, although her dramatic improvement in performance over the year was on show to all.

Matt Thompson unfortunatly only finished one race and this had a few mistakes in it. Matt has made big changes to his skiing performance and we are looking forward to his results later in the season.

Alice Williams increased her performance in all disciplines.

Natassja Linley skied well over all three days and placed 4th in her year of birth.

Max Greenfield was very competitive in the SL races just missing a podium place.

In the Junior races we had two podium places with Alice Thelwell 2nd British skier in the SL and Carla Gardener claiming 3rd British place in the GS.

Aaron Amos made a few mistakes in the SL, he put in a great 1st run in the GS unfortunatly the second run was cancelled due to inclement weather and he was therefore unable to score any points.

Richard Gash continues to race with improved performances.

Rebecca Brown claimed 3rd and 1st in both mini races with really good performances on the steep Les Menuires piste

27th December 2006 Excellent GS Training

Today we trained GS on our local hill The lift company kindly opened the lift at 07.00 am for our team to train 2 hours before the public arrived on the piste. We managed to set 44 gates with average times of around 1 minute 30 seconds to complete the each run

1st December 2006 Slalom Glacier Training

We had an excellent week on the Stubai Glacier this week. We trained Slalom all week on hard snow in sunshine and temperatures of only -1C during the day.

20th November 2006 SG Training

The Stubai Glacier gave us good SG Training and a weather window of 4 days. Training took place on the 60 second SG training piste that is used by the Austrian National Development team. All athletes improved their times and developed their speed skills.
